Egyptian Odyssey: Unveiling the Best of Ancient Wonders

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you are met by our representative who assists you with immigration and obtaining your luggage. You are then transferred by an air-conditioned vehicle to your centrally located hotel and assisted with check-in.Arrival in Cairo

After breakfast at your hotel, you are introduced to your guide and begin your tour with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Exhibiting over 120,000 objects in its 107 halls, the Museum of Antiquities boasts the world’s greatest collection of Ancient Egyptian artefacts. Venture into the fascinating Mummy Room, which houses eleven royal kings and queens of ancient Egypt, including the Great Ramses II, Egypt’s longest-ruling pharaoh.

Enjoy lunch at one of Cairo’s finest restaurants, and the rest of your day is at leisure.

After a buffet breakfast at your hotel, transfer by private air-conditioned car to Cairo Airport to take your domestic flight to Abu Simbel, and then continue to Aswan.

Upon arrival in Abu Simbel, meet your representative, who escorts you to the Temple of Abu Simbel by private vehicle and introduces you to your private guide.

Visit the Temple of Abu Simbel, built by the Great Ramses II. This temple is one of the most recognisable images in the country. The two temples — the Great Temple of Ra-Harakhte, fronted by four colossal statues of Ramses II, and the Temple of Hathor, dedicated to Queen Nefertari — were relocated to their current site when the creation of Lake Nasser threatened their existence.

Continue to Aswan, where you are greeted and transferred to your Sanctuary Nile Cruise. Check in to your deluxe Nile cruise boat, where you are welcomed by the reception staff.

After lunch on board, take a ride on a Felucca (a traditional Egyptian sailboat) around Elephantine Island, Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Garden, and the Agha Khan Mausoleum (weather permitting).

In the evening, enjoy a cocktail reception with your Boat Manager, followed by a gourmet dinner, a folkloric show, and a Whirling Dervish performance.

A breakfast buffet is served on board, followed by a short motorboat ride to visit the Philae Temple on the Island of Agilika.

Next, visit the Granite Quarries, where you will see the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the northern region of the stone quarries.

Later, enjoy an Egyptian cooking lesson on board.

After lunch, cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek.

Afternoon tea is served while sailing to Edfu.

In the evening, enjoy an Egyptian Night costume party, where guests can dress in traditional galabeya, followed by a buffet dinner, oriental music, and dancing.

Breakfast is served on board, followed by a morning visit to explore the Temple of Horus. Despite being built by the Greeks, this structure is the largest and most completely preserved Pharaonic temple in Egypt.

Return to the boat and continue cruising to Esna while enjoying lunch.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Khnum at Esna. The Great Hypostyle Hall, built during the reign of the Roman Emperor Claudius, is remarkably well preserved and sits about nine metres below present-day street level.

Afternoon tea is served as you sail to Luxor.

Tonight, a sumptuous dinner is served on board.

A breakfast buffet is served on board while sailing to Luxor. This morning, your guide will show you around the Temple of Luxor, dedicated to the god Amun, followed by the Temple of Karnak.

After lunch, visit the West Bank of Luxor, including the Valley of the Kings and the tomb of Pharaoh Seti I, one of the best-preserved tombs in the valley. You will also visit at least one tomb in the Valley of the Queens and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.

On the way back, pass the Colossi of Memnon, known in ancient Greek times for their mysterious sounds at dawn.

Return to your cruise for afternoon tea.

Tonight’s farewell dinner is a gala dinner with gourmet cuisine.

A buffet breakfast is served on board before check-out at 8:00. Transfer by private air-conditioned car to Luxor Airport for your domestic flight back to Cairo.

Upon arrival, transfer to the Four Seasons Hotel, where you can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast, begin your day at the Citadel of Salah El-Din, a medieval fortress built in 1176 to protect Cairo from the Crusaders. The citadel complex includes mosques and museums such as the National Military Museum.

Continue with a walking tour along Muiz El-Din Allah Street, starting at Bab El-Fotouh and ending at Bab Zuweila, passing historic Islamic monuments and lively markets.

Lunch is served at Naguib Mahfouz Restaurant in the heart of Khan El-Khalili Bazaar.

Finally, explore the Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest markets in the Middle East, filled with narrow streets, workshops, and stalls selling crafts, leather goods, and perfumes.

After breakfast, visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving wonder of the ancient world, built over 4,500 years ago as tombs for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure.

Nearby is the Great Sphinx, with the body of a lion and the face of a king, believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Saqqara, the ancient necropolis of Memphis, where you will see the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the first pyramid ever built and the world’s oldest freestanding stone structure. The tombs here feature intricate artwork depicting ancient Egyptian life.
