Winter Adventure in the Changbai Mountains

Upon arrival, transfer to Jinjiang Wooden House near Manjiang Town before continuing to your hotel. This remarkably preserved village, over 80 years old, is China’s last remaining Manchu wooden settlement. Spend time exploring its traditional architecture, watching folk performances, and observing Manchu attire, offering an immersive introduction to the region’s cultural heritage.

Journey to the lesser-visited West Slope Scenic Area, where forested mountains lead to Tianchi (Heaven Lake). Climb approximately 1,400 steps to reach a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the lake, offering a quieter and more expansive perspective than the North Slope. Continue to Jinjiang Canyon for a 45-minute plank walk through dramatic rock formations and riverside scenery, surrounded by snow-covered landscapes.

Explore Wang Tian’e Scenic Area in Shivdaogou, known for its striking volcanic basalt formations, rivers, and frozen waterfalls. The winter landscape transforms the region into a serene, frost-covered environment. Later, visit the Changbai–Hyesan International Bridge across the Yalu River, where you may glimpse daily life across the border in North Korea, adding a rare geopolitical dimension to the journey.

Experience a unique winter rafting adventure along icy rivers, where temperatures below -20°C create spectacular rime-covered trees along the banks. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at the VIP Wilderness Kitchen, set in a forest by a frozen lake. The meal features traditional Manchu Ula hot pot and grilled dishes, offering a refined yet deeply local culinary experience.

After check-out, transfer to the airport for your departure. If time permits, optional activities include snowmobiling, ice fishing, or a horse sleigh ride, providing a final opportunity to experience Changbaishan’s winter landscape before concluding your journey.
