Day
1
We’re warmly welcomed into Cape Town, widely recognised as the most beautiful city in the world, where we base ourselves in the heart of the city at Kensington Place.
Day
2
During our stay we may choose to explore the many boutique art galleries and museums on our doorstep, climb the nearby mountains, relax on the beach or immerse ourselves in the rich cultural history of South Africa.
Day
3
In the evenings, the city’s fantastic restaurants and gin bars come to life, and we’re spoiled for choice between the trendy and the sublime as we make our way through some of South Africa’s top fine dining cuisine.
Day
4
We continue exploring Cape Town and its surrounding landscapes, making the most of its cultural and natural attractions.
Day
5
After a last breakfast in the mother city, we head into the rugged world of the Cederberg, famous for ancient rock art and thousands and thousands of flowers sprawled across the rolling hills.
Day
6
Our stay here at Bushmans Kloof is an adventure, and we’re able to immerse ourselves in the unusual landscape on foot, by bicycle or in a canoe. In the evenings, we’re treated to dinner beneath the stars shared with an extensive wine collection and good company.
Day
7
This morning we continue our journey into the heart of the Cape Winelands, where we discover the quaint French villages of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl.
Day
8
We base ourselves on a beautiful winery at La Petite Ferme, which is perfectly positioned to explore the surrounding vineyards by Harley Davidson, or horseback, however we prefer, stopping for a gourmet picnic or fluffy pancakes in the local village before continuing on to the next world-class cellar door.
Day
9
Our journey today follows the old wine trail through rustic towns and wide-open spaces. Ostriches and sheep think it’s Nirvana, and as we pass through the one-horse towns of Route 62 we feel as though we are traversing back in time until we rejoin the dramatic coastline and make our way to Plettenberg Bay.
Day
10
For the next three nights we base ourselves at The Plettenberg, perched right on the water’s edge. Plettenberg Bay is the jewel of the Garden Route, and no stranger to luxury or style.
Day
11
As we continue our culinary adventure by night, our days are filled with the great outdoors. We may like to take an oyster cruise, walk with an elephant trunk-in-hand, explore the Robberg Nature Reserve or play a round of golf surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Day
12
Feeling the kind of relaxation that accompanies good food, fresh air and exhilarating exercise, we catch a short flight to Johannesburg where we meet our international flight home.
