Day
1
Arrive in Fiji and journey south to Nanuku Resort, an intimate retreat set along the coastline of Pacific Harbour. Settle into your villa or residence and allow the first day to unfold at an unhurried pace, perhaps with time beside the infinity pool, a stroll along the resort’s long stretch of beach or a sunset drink overlooking the Pacific. For an indulgent beginning, consider a traditional Fijian massage or a privately arranged dinner in one of Nanuku’s secluded settings, from the shoreline to its elevated treetop dining platform.
Day
2
Enjoy a leisurely morning at Nanuku, with the day entirely yours to shape around the South Pacific. Guests seeking adventure can venture into Beqa Lagoon, renowned for its colourful soft corals and abundant marine life, with guided snorkelling revealing reef formations, tropical fish and the possibility of turtles or manta rays. Alternatively, escape by boat to Nanuku’s private island for several hours of near-total seclusion, combining snorkelling, kayaking or paddleboarding with a relaxed picnic beneath coconut palms. Those preferring to remain at the resort can simply surrender to a slower rhythm beside the pool or beach.
Day
3
Spend another day immersed in Nanuku’s relaxed approach to island living. Begin with sunrise yoga or choose a restorative treatment surrounded by tropical greenery, with the resort’s wellness programme ranging from traditional massage to more active fitness experiences. For a deeper cultural connection, optional experiences include a traditional kava ceremony, Fijian arts and crafts, a local food safari or the spectacle of a fire-walking ceremony. Nanuku can also arrange a traditional lovo dinner, offering the chance to experience Fijian flavours prepared using techniques that have been passed through generations.
Day
4
Your final full day at Nanuku is deliberately left open. Spend it doing very little at all, or choose one of the resort’s more memorable private experiences. Venture into the highlands for a waterfall hike, help restore the marine environment through coral planting, cruise the coastline at sunset or arrange a private sandbank picnic. For something especially romantic, retreat to Nanuku’s private island, where a full-day escape can combine snorkelling, a picnic lunch and time completely removed from the outside world. End the day with an optional private chef dinner on the cliffside, beach or beneath the branches of Nanuku’s remarkable Dilo tree.
Day
5
Bid farewell to Pacific Harbour and make the journey north towards Nadi, allowing the day to function as a relaxed transition between the two halves of your Fiji escape. Nanuku sits around two and a half hours from Nadi by road, while a private scenic air transfer can reduce the journey considerably for those seeking a more exclusive alternative. Once in Nadi, keep the remainder of the day intentionally unstructured — relax at your arranged accommodation, enjoy a leisurely meal or simply recharge before departing for the Mamanuca Islands the following day.
Day
6
Leave the mainland behind and continue to Tokoriki Island Resort, secluded among the volcanic islands and turquoise lagoons of the Mamanuca archipelago. For the most seamless arrival, opt for a scenic helicopter flight from Nadi, taking approximately 15 minutes, while private speedboat and scheduled catamaran transfers provide equally beautiful approaches across the water. Once settled into your bure or villa, spend the afternoon by the 25-metre infinity pool or swimming in the lagoon before enjoying sunset cocktails and an oceanfront dinner as island life begins to slow the pace once again.
Day
7
Wake to another completely flexible day. Explore Tokoriki’s surrounding lagoon using complimentary kayaks, paddleboards or Hobie Cats, or join one of the resort’s scheduled snorkelling trips. More adventurous travellers can explore further through the resort’s PADI dive centre, while those seeking complete relaxation can retreat to one of Tokoriki Spa’s private treatment bures for a couples massage or extended wellness ritual. With no need to follow a fixed programme, the remainder of the afternoon can be spent beside the infinity pool, reading beneath the palms or simply enjoying the quiet of the island.
Day
8
For your final full day, enjoy Tokoriki entirely at leisure or elevate the experience with one of the resort’s private excursions. A particularly indulgent option is a Champagne Island Beach Picnic on nearby Monu Island, combining a secluded beach with snorkelling and a picnic lunch. Alternatives include a private snorkelling safari, a sandbar excursion or a visit to dramatic Monuriki Island. Back at Tokoriki, the evening can be made equally memorable with a private oceanfront dinner, an intimate jetty experience beneath the stars or dinner in the privacy of your villa, complete with personal service.
Day
9
Enjoy a final unhurried morning at Tokoriki, perhaps beginning with an oceanfront breakfast before taking one last swim in the lagoon or relaxing beside your private pool. If time allows, make use of the resort’s kayaks, paddleboards or snorkelling equipment for a final encounter with the surrounding waters. Afterwards, depart the island and return towards Nadi by your arranged transfer — with the option of a private helicopter providing a suitably spectacular finale to nine days of South Pacific seclusion, combining the tropical wilderness of Pacific Harbour with the idyllic beaches of the Mamanuca Islands.
