Plains, Primates and Forest Canopies

We begin our journey in Kigali with a spectacular private helicopter flight to a national park that is truly defying the odds – Akagera National Park. This afternoon, we enjoy our first Big 5 game drive in this peaceful wildlife sanctuary.

We base ourselves at Magashi, where we can explore this newly regenerated ecosystem in depth. Whilst here, we will have the opportunity to experience daily day and night game drives, boating, and a walking safari to get up close to some resident wildlife.

We continue exploring Akagera National Park from Magashi, with further opportunities to experience day and night game drives, boating activities, and walking safaris, allowing close encounters with the park’s diverse wildlife.

After a final morning game drive and brunch at Magashi, we take to the skies once more with a helicopter flight to Parc de Volcans.

With two full days based at the enchanting and luxurious Bisate Lodge, we head out on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek in this precious wilderness.

We continue our time in Parc de Volcans with a golden monkey trek, further immersing ourselves in this unique and biodiverse wilderness.

Today our journey continues once more by helicopter, flying southward to the beautiful Nyungwe Forest.

A chimpanzee trek and forest canopy walk round off our primate bucket list as we spend the evening at One & Only Nyungwe House, reflecting on our unique experiences in Rwanda.

We enjoy one last breakfast at the One & Only before boarding our chartered helicopter back to Kigali to meet our international flight home.
