Our Diverse Namibian Overland Adventure

Day

1

Arrival & Journey to Namibia

We will arrive in Johannesburg after an overnight flight, from where we connect to Windhoek, Namibia.

Day

2

Namib-Naukluft National Park

We start our journey in Namibia by driving approximately 200 miles – a journey time of around 5 hours – through the Khomas Hochland Mountains, and down into the basin of the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Here we will be awed by the striking red sand dunes and desert-adapted wildlife surviving in one of the world’s oldest deserts.

Day

3

Journey to Walvis Bay & Swakopmund

We depart camp early in the morning, driving through the Kuiseb Canyon and onward via expansive gravel plains to Walvis Bay, then from there pressing on into Swakopmund, a total journey of around 5–6 hours.

Day

4

Atlantic Coast Exploration

On our fourth day, we will explore the blue Atlantic coastline from the water, with a “Dolphin and Seal” catamaran cruise.

Day

5

Transfer to Damaraland

We continue our journey by road a further 200 miles into the remote and arid region of Damaraland, west of the Brandberg Mountains, stopping for lunch at the Ugrab ‘Save-the-Rhino’ trust along the way.

Day

6

Damaraland Wilderness Experience

This area boasts incredible geological formations as well as the largest population of Black Rhino living outside a nature reserve anywhere on the planet. We will spend our nights here at the Damaraland Adventurer Camp.

Day

7

Continued Exploration in Damaraland

We continue exploring the remote and arid landscapes of Damaraland, experiencing its geological formations and wildlife.

Day

8

Etosha & Ongava Game Reserve

We continue our journey northward to the vicinity of the Etosha Pan and the bordering Ongava Private Game Reserve. Etosha remains the highest game concentration area within Namibia, and as such its fame is well justified.

Day

9

Safari at Andersson’s Camp

We will explore this area while staying at Andersson’s Camp.

Day

10

Return to Windhoek & Departure

We will leave Ongava in the morning, continuing our journey by road with a drive of about 4 hours southward to Windhoek, from where we bid farewell to Namibia, heading on to Johannesburg by air for our connecting flight home, arriving home on the 11th day.
